Nick is an experienced tutor for electric and acoustic guitar, ukulele and bass. He is versed in a wide variety of styles and has a proven track record of helping his students achieve their aims, be it grade preparation, further education or performing in bands.
Nick is an advocate of the "3Ts" – theory, technique and technology – and the "3Ps" – practice, playing and performance – as a route to progression for guitar players. He gives 30 min or 1 hour lessons to pupils at his own home in Littleport, or in their own homes if need be, usually weekly, from complete beginners to advanced players.
In addition to private tuition, Nick has taught peripatetically in many schools in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk teaching guitar, bass and ukulele, along with other activities such as school Rock and Jazz bands, instrumental workshops and clubs for guitar and ukulele. He currently teaches at Soham Village College, since 2000, and Culford School near Bury St. Edmunds, since 2007.
His passion for music is contagious and, while demanding application and rigour, he makes learning fun.
